TANAMI PROJECT
- 2,400 square kilometres of landholdings prospective for uranium and gold.
- An unconformity exists between the early Proterozoic Killi Killi Beds, which are shallow marine deposits and the Mid-Proterozoic Gardner Formation, which is composed of coarse fluvial sandstones.
- Due to the presence of the unconformity, Mt Davidson and the Tanami Project are prospective for base metals, uranium and gold.
- The region is considered to be under explored. Previous explorers have defined gold anomalies on our tenements.
- Modern geophysical methods shall be employed to better define and reveal the nature of the unconformity in these tenements.
- Neighboring success highlights the prospectivity of the region, with two major gold mines in the area and a third under development.
- Quantum's ground lies adjacent and along strike from Tanami Gold N.L.'s tenure which has recently been joint ventured to Homestake Mining.
- Newmont Tanami Pty Ltd is earning 75% in Officer Hill JV.
The Tanami project has considerable scope in the light of past exploration work, recent discoveries and latest exploration techniques. The proposed exploration activities are intended to investigate the nature of base metal mineralisation associated with the unconformity between the Killi Killi Beds and the Mid-Proterozoic Gardiner Sandstone. This will include a programme of loam sampling of targets over the defined region, stream sediment sampling and drilling to define the nature of targets.
Quantum is continuing to actively pursue agreements with native title holders in order to proceed to granting of the tenements.
