Quantum

The exploration activities of Quantum are conducted in accordance with and controlled principally by Australian state and territory government legislation. The Company employs a system for reporting environmental incidents, establishing and communicating accountability, and rating environmental performance. Data on environmental performance is reported as part of the monthly regime. In addition, as required under various state and territory legislation, procedures are in place to ensure that the relevant authorities are notified prior to the commencement of ground disturbing exploration activities.

The Company is committed to minimising the impact of its activities on the surrounding environment, at the same time aiming to maximise the social, environmental and economic returns for the local community. To this end, the environment is a key consideration in our exploration activities and during rehabilitation of disturbed areas. Generally rehabilitation occurs immediately following the completion of a particular phase of exploration. In addition, the Company continues to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with the local communities affected by its activities. Rehabilitation initiatives include the extraction of all pegs and restoration of peg lines, plugging of all drill holes and removal of plastic geological sample bags.

The Company has also provided assistance with the economic development of local enterprises, conducted cultural awareness courses for persons engaged in exploration activities, and undertaken heritage surveys involving traditional owners prior to ground-disturbing activity.
